City chiefs were today due to plead for more funding as it wasrevealed social services was set to go pounds7 million over budget.
The warning was made at a meeting of Aberdeen City Council'sresource management committee.
A report from city chamberlain Susan Cooper raised the social workarea as one of the chief areas of concern.
It said there was an "urgent need" to find savings in both adultand child services departments.
The report also said "progress on the major elements of thehealth and social care savings does not appear to be smooth at thistime".
