Siena's power surges; Saints' Boyle and Granato shatter home run record for softball team.(Sports)

LOUDONVILLE - As kids, Jennifer Granato and Kelly Boyle learned to hit home runs with Wiffle balls, Boyle in the back yard of her Tewksbury, Mass., home and Granato while wading in a swimming pool, looping the ball over the heads of her brothers and onto dry land.

These days, Granato and Boyle knock softballs over fences at record-setting rates.

Playing for the Siena softball team, Granato and Boyle snapped the school's single-season home run record and tallied the second-highest home run total of any teammates in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They slugged Siena to a fifth-place finish, one slot from a …
