VIC:PM sends message of support to Stynes

Prime Minister JULIA GILLARD has sent a message of support to AFL club president JIM
STYNES as his battle with cancer continues.

45-year-old STYNES was back at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre earlier this week
for another gruelling round of tests for a tumour in his stomach.

In June, he endured his fifth operation to remove cancerous tumors from his brain.

Ms GILLARD says she's had the privilege to meet with STYNES and discuss his work with
young and disadvantaged Australians.

Doctors have urged STYNES to quit his role as Melbourne Football Club president and
concentrate entirely on his fight against cancer.
