NSW: Politicians comments always on the record: Chikarovski

Former New South Wales Liberal leader KERRY CHIKAROVSKI says politicians are public
property and there is no such thing as an off-the-record conversation with journalists.

Her comments follow the resignation of her successor, JOHN BROGDEN.

Today Mr BROGDEN stepped down following comments he'd made last month about former
New South Wales premier BOB CARR'S Malaysian-born wife HELENA being a mail-order bride.

He'd also pinched the bottom of one journalist and propositioned another at an event
on July the 29th.

Ms CHIKAROVSKI has told Sky News everything a politician does and says -- whether in
private or public -- is on the public record and public figures must be accountable.
